How can I close my Yahoo account?

How can I close my spam laden Yahoo account down.?

  • I originally had about 6 meg account with yahoo. Without my permission they have now made it 1 Gig. Now seemed stuck with stupid new Beta type email which I didnt recall requesting. Its also got slower so need to close it. I have been creating a folder called yahoo spam and filling that up with the spam rather than reporting and deleting. I have over 2000 spams there now. I appears the only way to get out of yahoo mail is to complete filling it up with big attachments and then turn spam filter off so spam wont be deleted after 30 days. Any other better ideas to close this new pathetic Yahoo down please.?

    Abandon it and create a new yahoo profile. You can keep your old profile for messager, if you wish. Let your friends know your new address. Without use after so many months, I think yahoo gets rid of them anyway. Hints to keep spam out: Don't share your new email address. Don't include it in posts. Don't include it on questionable websites.

To delete your account go to this website and it will walk you through the steps to close your account. When you delete this account it will also close all accounts you have with yahoo. You can just stay out of the account for 3-4 months and yahoo will deactivate it. You can change back to the regular yahoo that way you will not have the problems with beta. To help with your spam try to adjust your filters in options and also go into your spam protection and click on delete messages immediately.
