Why doesn't my computer alert me of new e-mail?

Help with windows 7 email and yahoo email?

  • ok the problem is my dad bought windows 7, uploaded it to his computer. When he clicks on his yahoo email it sends it all to his windows live email account when he goes to forward/send an email from windows live it doesnt send email anywhere. You can see it in the outbox, but it doesn't go anywhere... can anyone help with this??

  • Answer:

    I presume its Windows Live Mail. You have to properly configure it for Outgoing messages (usually it sets only for receiving mails) that needs authentication and perhaps need Yahoo Mail Plus account. As free yahoomail doesnt allow POP3 or IMAP options. I think you'll have to access/use Yahoo Mail using your internet browser (like Mozilla Firefox, IE8 etc)
