How do I retrieve my old email account?

How do you retrieve old email in INBOX after Yahoo closes your account?

I have another Yahoo! account which I put some email there that need not be read immediately. I know what they were - I had forwarded them from AOL. Trouble is, Yahoo! closed that account because of 3 months of inactivity. I managed to revive the account, but all my mail has disappeared. Yahoo! says that I could reactivate my account if I had a paid account with them. Do they mean that I will get my old mail back if I paid them or do they mean that after I pay them, they'd then tell me that I should bid Sayonara to my old mail. Is there anyway I can get the emails back? I no longer have my AOL account either. Thank you!

Unfortunately I do not believe there is a way to retrieve your lost email - even if you paid Yahoo I bet they purged any connection to that account when they closed it.
