Why am I unable to log in to Yahoo Messenger 8.0?

Will Yahoo Mail be deactivated if you just log into your Yahoo Groups or Yahoo Messenger only?

  • I reactivated the Yahoo Mail a while ago to test something, But I no longer plan to use the mail, I been told that if you don't log onto Yahoo Mail for 3 months, It deactivates. But I would like to know if logging onto Yahoo Messenger or into the Yahoo Groups would make it not to deactivate after the 3 months? I don't plan on using the mail, But still access my Yahoo ID for my other things like my Yahoo Messenger or the Groups and everything else from Yahoo.com

The way I understand it, and this has happened to me, an account is deactivated in you do not sign in for a period of either 60 or 90 days. By signing into your Y! Groups account you will keep the account active, since you are signing-in to the account. I guess using Messenger will work, too, since it accesses the user database.

Those will still work even if your yahoo mail is deactivated.

3 months it is deactivated and have to sign up again if u use messenger than it is active.
