How do I update status for Yahoo Messenger, via Yahoo Mail?

I am able to access yahoo mail in my office, but unable to download and install yahoo messenger in my computer. It's one of those admin limitation. Now that yahoo mail has an option to be linked to yahoo messenger and even to facebook chat, I wonder if there is any way to post a status via yahoo mail that will be visible on others' yahoo messenger? Thank you.

Answer:
On the mail page left hand column the only thing you can do is to show your signed in or not,by clicking on the large " N " which lights up when on line. Have a good day J R :)
