How can I get a Yahoo mail icon on my desktop?

How do i get the "Yahoo mail" icon to appear on my computer's desktop?

  • i presently access yahoo mail via internet explorer and enter the "Yahoo.co.uk" web address.

    *To get a Yahoo! Mail icon on your desktop, click Start on the bottom left corner of your screen, open All Programs, right click on Yahoo! Mail, put your cursor on "Send To",a menu will pop up, then click "Desktop (create shortcut)". *If Yahoo! Mail is not listed in All Programs, follow the directions below and make Yahoo! Mail your default email program. This should automatically put the icon on your desktop, if not follow the directions listed above, after you download the program below. Teach your computer to use Yahoo! Mail. Using Internet Explorer just click "Continue" on the link below to download a small 60K file that will enable Yahoo! Mail to be the default email program for your computer. Whenever you click on an email address on any web page or in any computer program, Yahoo! Mail will open for you in a new window. If Internet Explorer displays a yellow security bar at the top, click on it and select Install ActiveX Control from the menu. If a security warning comes up with Yahoo! Inc. as the publisher, click Install. Now you can click on an email address anywhere and your computer will automatically open up Yahoo! Mail for you. You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications. First, Open up a window. Second, Type in "mail.yahoo.com" and hit enter. Third, there wil be a little icon all the way on the left of your address bar, so minimize your window, and drag that icon onto your desktop interface, and there you have it :]

First you Right Click and Click on New--> shortcut You will then see a prompt Showing Location, Type the Internet Address Then you will see The Name And enter the name of your choice and you you're done! you've just created an Internet shortcut cut just click on it and it will automatically go to the address you typed. (note: if you want to change the Address Highlight the Icon Press alt + enter and you will see URL, you can edit it.)
