Forwarding email. Being able to delete all email addresses?

Why does the whole email delete when I'm just trying to delete the addresses in the email before forwarding?

  You're clicking on the wrong "delete". After you click on "forward">>>>and after you highlight the area you want to delete>>>click the delete key on your KEYBOARD (not the delete on your screen)......OR you can RIGHT click within the highlighted area and in the drop menu click on "delete". Either choice will ONLY delete the area that is highlighted. Sometimes it's better to do smaller bunches at a time (so as not to overwhelm the delete action). You can also just backspace items out (and you don't even have to highlight for that).
