How do I stop malicious e-mails?

How do you stop abusive, malicious emails from somebody in another country?

  • Somebody my friend used to know from his college days (more than 20 years ago) has started sending him abusive and malicious emails and cc-ed some people from his work and neighborhood. This abusive e-mailer is from another country. How should he tackle this? Any ideas? And how can he protect himself against the slander propagated by these emails.

just block him that way he won't be able to send any more emails

All he can do is block the email with filters. He could perhaps go to the IT department in his workplace and report the innapropriate message traffic in hopes that they might block it before it goes through their email servers. But if he can't go to that level, then he may just have to filter it off his system and tell people to ignore the moron. Because honestly, if people ignore the jerk, he'll get tired of the game. He's pressing buttons just to get a responce.

Could you block his emails somehow? Maybe you could report him as an abuser and have him blocked.
