What does the error 999 mean on yahoo?

Yahoo mail error?

  • This morning when I try to login to my e-mail account, I have been getting this error message: The error, LaunchHttpError-999, occurred when trying to connect to Yahoo! Mail. Then it says that this error might be temporary, and that I could switch to classic yahoo mail. I can successfully login to my husbands e-mail but not mine. I have tried over and over for 3 hours this morning. Has this happened to anyone else? What does this mean and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

    I've been seeing this issue all day as well (4-9). With so many people having the problem, it must be an issue with the mail service. My guess is: 1.) they made some recent changes and its having unexpected side effects. OR 2.) yahoo is under attack by hackers OR 3.) yahoo is experiencing technical difficulties (i.e. hardware failure) It will probably clear up within 24 hours and we may never find out what the problem was. Maybe the media will pick up the story and tell us what happened.
