How can I delete a contact on Gmail?

How do I delete old email addresses from contacts when I try to forward something from my emails?

• An example is Wanda Brandt. Her old address is [email protected]; her new address is [email protected]. I have changed it in my contacts list but when I try to forward something to her, I hit "w" & both her addresses come up. I have to remember which is her current one as I can't get the old one deleted. The same is true for Martha Jochum. With hers, the error in spelling is even still showing up. How do I delete these now & for future reference. I think if they are changed in the contact list, they should automatically be changed in the mail section.

  What email system are you using? A first guess would be to try this: When the options come up, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move onto the INCORRECT one. The press the delete key. This will delete the entry from the drop down list.
