What does the cc mean in a email?

What does cc. on email form mean?

  • what does cc. on email mean

  • Answer:

It is other parties that you want to send a copy of th email to but the email was not directed to them. For instance, you are writing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau about a dispute you have with a company and you want the company in question to be able to see that you are posting a dispute about them so you put their email in the cc box. They get a copy of the letter you are sending. Or at work, you are giving a directive to a company or another employee and it is important that the other employees know what you are directing so you cc them on the email so everyone is up to speed. But you would not direct the email to them as it is not directly to them. Hope that helps!

Carbon Copy. It's just letting someone know about the email too. As in, it's not directly to them. BCC means Blind or Blank Carbon Copy, so they'll be sent the email, but it won't show to whoever else it's being sent to.
