How can I reset my browser setting?

Q about: “In New Yahoo! Mail Classic changing browser’s encoding may corrupt the message while?

  • After a Windows XP Update of Dec 15, 2010, I am getting a window with the message: “In New Yahoo! Mail Classic changing browser’s encoding may corrupt the message while sending. Its recommended, that your browser’s encoding (usually under the browser’s view menu) is set to UTF-8. “ After an automatic update of Windows (XP) on 12/15/2010, EVERY time I sign on to Yahoo Mail a window displays with the message about UTF-8, as shown above. I have used the View, Encoding drop down and set it to UTF-8, but it always is being reset to Western European (Windows) whenever I sign off (or close browser), so the message is displayed again, every time I sign on to look at my Yahoo Email. I have even tried rebooting after changing the setting to UTF-8, but it is always reset to Western European (Windows). It appears to be an incompatibly between the Windows XP update and Yahoo! Mail. It is very annoying, and I have suspended any further updates until this is resolved. I used Google to research it, and found a Yahoo Question from 3 years ago, with the same message, but only a broken link for opting out of the New Mail. I feel certain that it is related to the Windows update because I have Restored my system to a saved restore point prior to the Windows Update, and the problem does not occur then. Anyone else have the problem, and perhaps a solution?
