Change notification email rec'd today abt extra email addresses and disposable addresses-?
-
What's up with the email alerts that went out to Yahoo Premium members about 'you will no longer be receiving emails to any other domain that you did not sign up with. You will only receieve emails to your Extra email address: cocoluvr" (that's not my roor name but I didn't want to post the real one there for privacy). Also got another email that says "you have been receiving emails to your other yahoo domains even though your emaiul address ends in yahoo.com. In order to improve accuracy of emails received by you in right domain, you will no longer be receiving emails to any other domain that you did not sign up with. You will only receive emails to your disposable email address 'cocoluvr'[keyword]@yahoo.com. Do I need to be concerned that any email either to the above root disposb ale address or more importantly to my promary yahoo account won't be delivered anymore? What's going on? Any elaboration/clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

I received this response (see below***) for a similar question. The information in the link is somewhat helpful, but is still a bit confusing. They want you to verify something, yet they don't provide you with a 'verification' or 'submit' button after you follow the instructions. ******************************* Yahoo! has changed their disposable addresses policy, so if your disposable addresses end with ".com.au", they will be changed to just ".com". Disposable Email Addresses Policy Change (Yahoo! Help) http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/mailplus/addressguard/addressguard-29.html ******************************* I hope it helps. Clear as mud, right?

I'm not answering your question, but instead just adding to it... I received three similar emails from Yahoo today. Could these emails be any more vague? The least Yahoo should have done is provide a link in the emails they sent that tells more details. I have various linked and extra email addresses with my (paid) Yahoo Mail Plus account, and my extra email address has been my primary email address for work for over 10 years. If they are suddenly going to cancel this email address, it's going to cause me a lot of problems, so I'm not too happy about it. Note there are a few more people asking this in Yahoo Answers (see source links), but no one seems to have much info yet.

I have received same mail, not sure if i should go ahead and do this, it is really confusing it self. Is it spam it self of yahoo is trying to do some change how we operate?

I got about 4 of these emails. I think they're legit, even though one of them gets my disposable email wrong. The real problem is I'm not sure what I'm supposed to edit in these disposable addresses (or "extra" addresses depending on which email you read.) I'm glad the help staff have succeeded in making this as confusing as it is.

I got this today also. I'm currently investigating this email. Spam or legitimate?
