It appears that the question period has expired. If you have received an answer that meets your needs, _please_ choose one of those as a 'best answer' as soon as you can; otherwise, this question will go to an automatic vote. If you haven't received a good answer for your question, you may want to consider the following, 1) Remove this version of your question and re-post your question. Newer questions get more activity on Yahoo! Answers than old ones. 2) If you do re-post your question, consider why it wasn't answered the first time. Could it be more specific? Could it be worded better? Were there grammatical or spelling errors? Was it in the best category? Can you provide more helpful details? If it doesn't seem likely that re-posting your question will help you, then here's a listing of my favorite 'answer sites'. Maybe one of them will help you. I'm not sure this would work, but it worked for me: I wanted to use the name AuntB93, and when I entered it in the sign-up screen, the message came back that the name was already taken. I strongly suspected it had been taken by myself some time ago, and I had forgotten. So I clicked on "forgot your password?" and they sent me an email with the "security" question. Sure enough, it had been me! Was it you? If not, you will not be able to answer the security question.

The name is probably a user profile, rather than an email address. When you want to find a user's profile, the address is always the same, but with that username on the end. In the example you're referring to, it would be http://profiles.yahoo.com/poorurbanbiker However, I doubt this will help you get the username. Even if he decides to delete it so you can have it, there will still be a waiting period before it is accessible. And then someone might get to it just before you.
