How Do I Export Yahoo mail contacts to Thunderbird?

How do I export my btinternet.com Yahoo e-mail contacts to my NEW Yahoo e-mail contacts?

I have a btinternet yahoo e-mail account, and I have tried to export them (and import them) to a new Yahoo e-mail account I have created. When I go through the import process as instructed on my new Yahoo e-mail account and I am asked what e-mail address I want to export from, it gives examples of aol, hotmail, gmail or OTHER. I click on other, then type in my btinternet address as requested, but it keeps coming up as invalid, try again. I have tried doing it the other way, EXPORTING contacts from my btinternet address to my new yahoo mail address, but this does not work either. There must be a simple explanation, but I am fed up of trying. Can someone please give me step by step instructions if they know how. Thanks. PS, in another part of my new yahoo mail instructions, it mentioned checking that I should check my POP server, I did this and entered it as (POP3) which is correct!!
