How do I set up ATT email on a new computer?

How can I set my computer so that when i get a NEW email---it notifies me BY A DING OR A SOUND SO I HEAR IT.?

  • Sometimes when i DO get a NEW EMAIL--it STILL does not even show the ""new mail"" flag on my home page of my yahoo account. I want to be notified by a SOUND--A DING--SOMETHING that I can hear.

    Mine only lets me know if I have my Instant Messenger on. I use to have a door bell, then changed over to a knock at the door sound. Now I have the Yahoo call.

I don't know but once you figure it out let me know cause I always wanted my computer to go "Mail Mother F*cker" like in EuroTrip. LOL

A sure way is to get the premium Yahoo mail account which is POP3. Then set it up in an email program such as Thunderbird. I don't do it for Yahoo mail but my private email goes to Thunderbird where I have set up a notify sound of the AOL "You've Got Mail". I also believe that if you install the Yahoo toolbar there is a notify option.
