I have not written the conclusion yet but i will edit and add on the conclusion soon, Outside Reading Book Essay When a dear friend leaves you suddenly you are left crushed and lonely. Many years later when you meet them again your love comes back for them but stronger. In Sunday’s at Tiffany’s Jane is left distraught and lonely when her imaginary friend, Michael, lest her when she was nine years old. When they see each other again in the future they remember how much they cared for each other and fall in love. Through this love story, Jane and Michael explore how love can extend out of comfortable boundaries. Jane’s imaginary friend ,Michael, is seeing her for the first time in 23 years, since he left her when she was nine years old, walking down the streets of New York City. When he realized it was his Jane his love for her wasn’t how an adult loves a child but a different kind of love. “A certain tilt of her head… The walk… Kind of ‘breezy’…But the swing of her arms… Well, maybe… A glance his was. Those eyes. No, not those eyes! Michael’s jaw dropped. It was completely impossible but it had to be Jane! Oh God, it was his Jane Margaux!” pg.51-52 Michael has no idea why they have reunited again. Michael remembers many things about Jane but specifically remembers the way she walks, how she swings her arms, and her eyes. After being away from someone so long and seeing them suddenly seems to fill you with love and excitement. Jane was coming home from dinner where she was suppose to meet her jerk of a boyfriend Hugh. As usual Hugh never showed up for dinner but Jane being as sweet as she is, comes home with a smile on her face. Michael cannot believe that people are still blowing Jane off and treating her with no respect. “People were still letting her down, not treating her like the special treasure she was. What was that all about?” pg.56 Michael cannot believe that people are letting Jane down. He believes that Jane should be treated with as much respect and courtesy as any one else. Michael’s love is still there and he can hardly bare how people are still treating Jane. After being away from her he realizes that he still cares about Jane and how others are appraise her. Jane and Michael finally meet face to face again in the St. Regis restaurant they always use to go to when Jane was younger. When Jane walks up to Michael he is having some dessert with a friend but tries to talk to him. Michael and her could barley speak to each other when Michaels friend left the table and talk Jane to take her seat. Jane’s voice came up raspy and she stuttered a bit but she finally calmed down and they began to talk. “ I just…never forgot you. I’ve thought about you every day for twenty three years. And now here you are back again. It’s…unbelievable.” pg 135 Jane is explaining to Michael that she never forgot him since the day he left her on her ninth birthday. Jane is in shock that she is actually meeting and seeing Michael again. After all these years that Jane still remembers Michael. Jane was suppose to forget Michael after her ninth birthday party but she never did and was heartbroken the next day when she realized that Michael wasn’t coming back. Jane’s love for Michael stayed strong after all these years and she always wished that he would come back. The night before Jane and Michael had a their official first date and their first kiss with each other. Michael is just realizing how much he cares for Jane. He has never really had these feelings for anyone else but he knew he was in love with Jane. “ Like the fact that he thought he was falling in love with Jane Margaux. He had all the classic symptoms-pounding heart, sweaty palms, dreamy lapses in attention, a certain degree of immaturity, happiness in just about every part of his body. After last night, he had to see Jane again.” Michael realizes that he is falling in love with Jane and he knew it. He had all the symptoms of falling in love. Michael is falling in love with Jane. He feels he cannot be away from he for another minute and to be with her constantly.
