I cannot change my email font. Please help. All the fonts in drop box are identical. I have tried everything?

I went to internet options and all it does is change the font for web pages. I need it to change in my email. I can change text color but not fonts and sizes. Please help. It used to work but has suddenly just stopped. I even uninstalled/reinstalled Yahoo with an update to see if that would help, but it didn't. Thanks in advance for your help. Molly
