How do I change the name appearing next to my email name?

How can I change the name appearing on an outgoing email?

  • When i recieve an email, I notice the names of the people who sent me that email. I want to change the name others see when I send an email. Is this possible? If so, would someone please assist me?

    In regular Yahoo Mail, click Options (it's located in the upper right corner of the Mail page), then click General Preferences. At the top, you'll see the "from name" field. Change your name to whatever you want or leave it blank. Be sure to click Save when done.

In options on the mail page enter pref's and change the reply to field.

Since the question is in Yahoo Mail, I'll assume that's what you mean. From your mail page, click "Options" (near the top right of the page); Under Management, click "Mail Addresses"; Highlight the email account you want to change (if you have more than one address on the account), then click the "Edit" button; Type the name you want people to see in the "From Name" box, and click the "Save" button!

"April" explained what to do if you are using the original version of Y.Mail. And if you use the new Beta version, click Options > Mail Options and select Accounts from the side menu. Click 'Add or edit an account'. When the Accounts window opens, click the Edit button. In the General Preferences window, enter the name you want to appear on your outgoing mails. Click Save.

Web Mail- go into your mail 'options' (upper right hand corner) go into General preferences. (You'll need to scroll down a bit to find it) the first option that is on that screen is the 'from address' Outlook/Outlook Express - You should be able to go to tools, Accounts, select the account and choose change/properties. Under General look for name. How your name shows up in that field is how it will apear to people who recieve your mail
