How to change yahoo mail from german to english?

  • I found this question from Chuck and I originally answered it. In the meantime, I found a fix but now can't answer again. Here is Chuck's question and below is my immediate fix. - How to change Yahoo Mail from German to English in Germany? I am an American living in Germany. I've lived here 6 years with proper English settings in my Yahoo Mail, having set it up when I arrived. In upgrading to Windows 7, when I checked my Yahoo email, everything is in German and I can't figure out how to change it back into English. I have Googled this issue and have found several websites explaining what to do, but not only are the instructions in English (which is what I need), but so are what it tells you where to go on the Yahoo page, so that it will say something like "Go to Edit Settings." Well, since everything is in German, that is useless information to me since everything on my Yahoo Mail is in German. I found one site that had a link where I had to sign in with my yahoo username and password that sent me to my language settings (https://edit.yahoo.com/mc2.0/set_intl?.scrumb=we.LBRJW6Na&.done=). I chose English and put my location once in Europe and it didn't work. Then I went back and changed it to English with my location in the U.S. Each time I saved the information. Now when I go to the main Yahoo page (My Yahoo), everything is in English. But when I choose Mail, or try to go to my Mail by any means (e.g., via a link on my computer) it has everything in German. How can I get everything in my Yahoo EMAIL page to be in German (i.e., words like "New" "Reply" "Reply All" "Forward" and everything on the page? What I did was change back to Mail Classic. Now it's all in English again. I can only imagine this is a local Yahoo issue. mimaboy

    From the top of this page hover on your name and click on Account Info give your password, scroll to the bottom and click on Language and pick the one you want. Have a great day. Jes***

I am also an American living in Germany and I am having the exact same problem. My main yahoo page is in English but my mail page is all in German. I have gone into the settings as you have said to change my info to US and it does nothing. It is all still in German. It is so frustrating. Please can you tell me what you did to change your mail to classic so that I can change mine as well?

CHANGE LANGUAGE FOR YAHOO MAIL: 1. From the top of your email page, rest your mouse on your Hi or Welcome name. From the drop down menu, click "Account Info." 2. Re-enter your password for verification. 3. Scroll down to Account Settings and Click "Set Language, Site, Time Zone." 4. Click the blue down arrow and select the country you want the language of. 5. Click Save.
