How do I edit My Contacts if my cursor won't appear in any of the edit fields?

I can get to the edit page to edit my contact information, however, when I click on the field that I want to edit, the cursor appears for a split second then disappears. I can't type anything in any field at all, so I haven't been able to edit any contact info for a long time. However, I am able to add a new contact without any trouble. Any thoughts? Help! Thank you.

re boot. empty cache. control alter delete and exit all programs but e-mail, system,explorer. start fresh-
