How can we recieve Yahoo mail alerts on our mobile for free?

Why am I no longer receiving "new e-mail" alerts on the Yahoo homepage?

  • When I go to Yahoo.com, the homepage no longer informs me of "new" mail. In order to find out if I have new mail I MUST go to my in-box. I no longer recieve "new" mail alerts from Yahoo Messenger either... and it has NOTHING to do with my preference settings. My messenger settings have been checked and rechecked... those settings only apply to Messenger, not to what is displayed on the Yahoo homepage.

    Do you have the yahoo mail icon in your toolbar? If not, you can add it in the message below. If you do, in Yahoo Classic, click on the pencil icon for the drop down menu. Select the "Refresh Toolbar". The mail button will update to show the number of new messages. Note: You must have the Mail button visible on your Yahoo! Toolbar in order to receive mail alerts. Click the pencil icon and select "Personal Options" -> Add/Edit button. Check the box next to "Yahoo Mail." Go to the bottom and click "Finished."
