not from your Yahoo! Mail but you can send SMS from your Yahoo! Messenger easily,as this: sign in to your messenger click menu 'Actions'>>'send an SMS messege' click 'My Contacts' if he/she is in your contact or click "Other Contacts' type your desired mobile number in the text box click 'ok' type your messege in the next screen click "send"

You can as long as that person can receive emails on their cell phones. If they can't, then unfortunately even if you send the message they may not receive it on the cell phones.
