How do i change my name on my e-mail address?

HELP ME PLZ!!! How can I change the display name on my email address?

• I recently opened a yahoo email address account, and the messenger IM thing. But what I am talking about here is just my email, not messenger. Anyway, when I send an email to someone, and they receive it, at the top of their email is my name, for instence, Joe Blow(joeblow@yahoo,com) well I dont want the name Joe Blow right before my email address. I would rather it say like Joe B. I have tried everything. I have changed my account infor to just have my last initial, Ive changed my profile, everything. and nothing is working. My account information now just shows a inital for my last name. But it still shows my FULL last name in the emails I send. Please, someone, HELP ME!!

  If by chance you are talking about the FROM name that your recipients see in their inbox prior to opening up the email...see below Click on this link http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl%E2%80%A6 In MAIL CLASSIC....click on OPTIONS...MAIL OPTIONS...scroll down to FROM NAME and change it to what you want. Go above and click on SAVE CHANGES. Note: If you leave the FROM NAME blank you will end up seeing this when you compose or forward an email.....FALSE followed by your email address.NOTE: for some reason this does not always work on Mail Classic. If it doesn't follow the steps as described in All New Mail.. In ALL NEW MAIL....click on OPTIONS....MAIL OPTIONS...go to the left side of the screen and click on ACCOUNTS...Once in click on ADD OR EDIT AN ACCOUNT...then click on EDIT...scroll down to FROM NAME and change it to what you want....Then go above and click on SAVE...Note: If you leave the FROM NAME blank you will see Yahoo Mail followed by your full name and your email address when composing or forwarding an email. ++++++++++++++++++++ You can't change your name but you can add another to your present account OR make a new one....see below To clarify what is below...when you add another name to the present account you will not lose anything...IE: contacts...address list. etc...You will have to send an email to all your friends advising them of the new email address...if someone makes a mistake and sends it to the email address you don't like anymore it will go to the same inbox so you don't lose any messages.
