Is Yahoo briefcase the same as my yahoo e-mail?

I received an email that yahoo was discontinuing Yahoo Briefcase. are the folders I created in Briefcase?

On the left under the inbox are folders. Where you can add folders and name them. Is this the same as briefcase or is that something different?

Yahoo! Briefcase is a has nothing to do with Yahoo! mail. The folders you have in Yahoo! mail are your mail folders. Yahoo! Briefcase is a file storage/sharing site. If you weren't using it to store documents, then there's nothing you need to do. Again... nothing is happening with Yahoo! Mail. The notice stated Yahoo! Briefcase, not Yahoo! mail.
