How do you get a sound when you get your emails?

How do I get a sound signal to alert me when new emails arrive in my in box on my Yahoo Email?

  You will need to have Yahoo Instant Messenger open in the background to hear the sounds. You can minimize it to the lower task bar while working in Yahoo Mail. and still receive the alerts. 1. With Messenger open, click on "Messenger." 2. Click on "Preferences." 3. Click on "Alerts & Sounds." 4. Check the box next to "Enable alert sounds. 5. Check the box next to "Alert me when someone signs on or off by showing a message at the bottom right corner." 6. Check the box next to "Playing a Sound." 7. Click the "Browse" button to choose the sound you prefer. 8. Click OK to save and close your preferences.
