How can I create a new font?

I have made a new alfabet .I am going to make a font for it please tell me how can I make it ? is there any software for this porpose? I should say that it is properly a new alfabet.

First of all, this new font will only work on your computer until it is patented and made into something that others can use, such as a Microsoft Word utility file. And in addition to this, we will not be able to see these letters online, since unknown fonts always seem to appear as plain Arial text.
