I saved my work through my e-mail.

How do you change the name preceding your email when you email others?

  • I'm working off of Yahoo! "All New" mail. A friend of mine showed me a long time ago how to change the name that appears before your email address as the "sender name" when you email people, and I had changed it to an alias of mine. However, I'm now emailing people that I don't want to use that alias for, and I'd really like to switch it back. I went to "Options" >> "More Options" >> "Accounts" >> "Yahoo! Mail" and changed the "Your 'From' name" and saved it, then tried sending an email to myself to see if it worked. However, the old alias showed up still, as opposed to the name I wanted it changed to. Can anyone tell me how to make this work? Thanks!

  • Answer:

Sounds like you've done everything right AND saved the changes, so it should work immediately. However: Some people say you have to log out and then back in, for the changes to be effective----while some find that it's "not necessary"-----maybe it depends on your computer ?? Go back to the from line setting (as you did before) to check and see if the name change you made is the same as you made it. THEN, try rebooting your computer and see if it works then.
