How do you make an avatar on Yahoo?

If you want to use a picture in your "my pictures" file, when you click on change avatar, select the "browse option". This will open a file list that includes "My Pictures".Open your My Pictures file. Click on the picture you want to use. Then click select. Exit out of the My Pictures file. The picture you highlighted should appear on the Yahoo picture strip. Then click on that picture, which will high light it. Click on "edit", which allows to position picture to fit Yahoo's avatar box. Next click "Submit Some pictures are not formatted to fit Yahoo's system, and Yahoo will reject them. Sometimes you have to repeat the process. Also make sure your Yahoo avatar section of pictures is not full. Sometimes you have to eliminate a previously selected picture to make room for your new one. Also Yahoo has an Option where you can create a cartoon avatar.
