How to change Yahoo Mail from German to English in Germany?

  • I am an American living in Germany. I've lived here 6 years with proper English settings in my Yahoo Mail, having set it up when I arrived. In upgrading to Windows 7, when I checked my Yahoo email, everything is in German and I can't figure out how to change it back into English. I have Googled this issue and have found several websites explaining what to do, but not only are the instructions in English (which is what I need), but so are what it tells you where to go on the Yahoo page, so that it will say something like "Go to Edit Settings." Well, since everything is in German, that is useless information to me since everything on my Yahoo Mail is in German. I found one site that had a link where I had to sign in with my yahoo username and password that sent me to my language settings (https://edit.yahoo.com/mc2.0/set_intl?.scrumb=we.LBRJW6Na&.done=). I chose English and put my location once in Europe and it didn't work. Then I went back and changed it to English with my location in the U.S. Each time I saved the information. Now when I go to the main Yahoo page (My Yahoo), everything is in English. But when I choose Mail, or try to go to my Mail by any means (e.g., via a link on my computer) it has everything in German. How can I get everything in my Yahoo EMAIL page to be in German (i.e., words like "New" "Reply" "Reply All" "Forward" and everything on the page?

    I speak both English and German and I'm really so happy to help you. 1. to make your Yahoo! Mail in English go to your "Account-Info". At the top on the right hand of "Hallo XXX" click on the drop down menu and then on "Account-Info". 2. You will be asked to reenter your Password. 3. then click on "Sprache, Standort, Zeitzone einstellen" 4. in "Standort und Sprache: " choose "Yahoo! US in English" 5.click on "speichern" to save your new settings. 6. You have to click on "Abmelden" which means "sign out" to implement what you have just changed. You find it at the top on the right hand side of your account. If you need any further help, please say. Good Luck!

Same problem just happened to me. This is not user friendly for Americans living in Germany! YAHOO please fix this! Changing the setting to Yahoo US doesn't change everything back to english. Words like "New" "Reply" "From" "Too" and action like "flag for follow up". This no notice change is very frustrating. Anyone know of another fix action? The one posted doesn't work. Thank you :o)

Try changing back to Yahoo Mail Classic. In your Mail account, on right side click on "Optionen" drop down, then select "Mail Classic". A popup will appear, click on button which states, "Zur Classic-Version von Yahoo! Mail". Voila! All in English!!!

I experienced the same issue last evening. Everything was correct in English but this morning it's exactly as you described. something must be going on with Yahoo in general. If you get an answer, please share. Thanks
