How do you change your username on yahoo mail?

I was wondering if I can change change my username and yahoo e-mail address?

  • I was thinking of changing my user name and address and was wondering if i can still maintain the names of people on my friend list in messenger, and the groups mailing list that i am a member of. and the names of people in my address book. Or do I have to start from scratch and begin a whole new username for a different yahoo address.

if im not mistaken you can make a knew name and still have your same address book i think you can forword all that stuff

Once you have a user name, that's that. Yahoo doesn't let you change your user name. You'll have to create a new one. It may be possible to export and then import the other information: check the options part of your email. If you don't see something like that, then you'll have to copy all of the addresses, and manully copy them to your new account.
