How do I set Yahoo. mail as my default mail provider on my PC?

  • Answer:

To make Yahoo! Mail the default email application for your computer, 1 Click Start 2 Go to Control Panel 3. Click “Internet Options”. 4. Click “Programs”. 5. Select “Yahoo! Mail” option from the drop down list of “E-mail:” option. 6. Click “Apply” and then click “OK If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as a default email option, installing Yahoo! Messenger (install everything that comes with it, don't un-check anything), will add Yahoo! Mail to the list of email options, and if you don't want it, uninstall it ( it will leave Yahoo! as an email option ). this is for IE6 You can also just open Internet explorer ( > Internet Options >Tools > Programs tab > under E-mail click the down arrow and select Yahoo! Mail > click Apply and OK.

If I understand your question, you want to be able to click on an email address in a browser and have Yahoo Mail come up to compose the message, as opposed to Microsoft Outlook or some other email program. As best I understand it, this feature is only available if you pay for Yahoo Mail Plus.
