How do I change my time on my yahoo incoming emails from Army time ?

  • I can't understand what time a person sent me an email because I can't understand Army time. How do I change it on my yahoo mail?

  • Answer:

    Click My Account at the top of this page > it will ask you for your password and take you to your Account Information page > where it says Member Information, click Edit > at the bottom of the page that opens, under General Preferences, where it says Time Zone, click the down arrow and select one of the six time zones at the top of the list > click Finished at the top or bottom of the screen > reload Yahoo! Mail. Now send yourself a test email and it will show the time that you sent it, and in your time zone, at least mine does, although it will show GMT Pacific Time in the full header.

Subtract 12 from anytime over 12 hours for the time. If your time is civilian in the lower right corner don't change anything.

Military time is easy. 24 hour clock. 0000-1159 designate AM hours. 1200-2359 designate PM hours. For PM hours, subtract 12. AM should be pretty self explanatory.

Emails originating in the Yahoo system carry a time stamp according to the main servers on the west coast of N.America (time zone PDT or PST). This is a default time setting that CANNOT be changed by users.
