Can you change the background on a picture with GIMP?

I need help changing my desktop background when i try to change it it makes 10 pictures of the same picture.?

  • when i change it to the picture i want it multiplys the picture to multiple pictures that i dont want all i want is 1 picture can anyone please help me

    Open display and choose stretch for position. Mine is whole with that setting.

it is because ur setting are in Tiles mode. go to desktop wallpapers setting.. change the setting to cenbtralized mode. the tiles will go away. for more info contact me on [email protected]

go to control panel then select stretch instead of tiled

You need to change the setting from "tile" to like "stretch" or "fill" screen. I can't remember...I use a Mac now...

Click on START, then click on Control Panel. Click on Display which brings up a small window called Display Properties. Choose the Desktop tab, and make sure Position is set to Stretch, or Center. However, if the picture is too small it will repeat even if I have Position set to Stretch, and only Center will give me a single image. Pictures of 600 x 800 pixels or larger work best for desktop wallpaper.
