How can i change the settings not to show my name?

How can I change the name that shows up when I email someone?

  • I originally made my yahoo email account through my moms account when i was younger. Whenever I send an email to someone, it has her name as the name for my email. Now that I am older, i really would prefer my account to have my name instead. I already changed the name in the settings to my name and it still shows up with her name. How can i permanently change it so my name will show up instead?

    You can change the FROM name and the REPLY TO address on the "Accounts" page. The FROM name can't be blank but you can change it to anything including the email address itself. Click "options ↬ mail options ↬ accounts in left column" Click "Yahoo! Mail" under the "Accounts" heading You can change the "From" name there or click on the link for "Change reply to address". ʎəɿʞɹɐq  ̊ ͜͡● ̊

You just need to change the "from line" setting. Mail page>>options>>mail options>>Accounts (from the list on the left)>>THEN click on "Yahoo Mail"---(middle of page, under "Accounts"). Now you can erase whatever is showing, on the "From line" and type in something else---a nickname---or initials---OR ? whatever you want---THEN click "SAVE" changes at the top of that page. You CAN NOT leave that line blank, otherwise Yahoo enters what was previously there or even sometimes puts "False" in place of a name. Some people say you have to log out and then back in, for the changes to be effective----but some find it's "not necessary"-----maybe it depends on your computer ??
