Delete and change e-mail?

Can I delete an old email name and change the account to a new name?

  • I would like to change my ms_sunshine1998 to another name but leave it under the same account so I will not have to start over with a new account. Can this be done and if so how? I want to keep all of my old email and addresses and just use a new name. I dont want to just not use the account anymore and leave it open. I just want to change an email name. If no one know if this can be done and how it works, please tell me who to contact with yahoo to discuss this account iformantion?

  • Answer:

You cannot delete the old email address. The best way to do it is to open a new account with your new email address. Close the old one and transfer your address book and any old email you have kept. Send them to your new address and add your address book before you cancel the old account. It is always frustrating to have to start with a new email but the good part is you will eliminate the old spam you were getting. good luck ......lol :)

No. You can't change your emails name without deleting it. Your email's name is your YAHOO ID right? That's how yahoo works. but you can always open a NEW yahoo account, go to mail options in the OLD one, and change the reply options. Basically, people will receive your emails from the old account, but have to reply to the new one, all your retrieved mail would go there. OR you can always link your email accounts.
