How do I change the yahoo main page?

How do i change my yahoo default page to the US from the UK & IRELAND page?

  • i prefer yahoo US page but recently when i sign out of yahoo i find my self in the UK&IRELAND site instead. i tried in vain to reset back to the >COM site but no luck. i checked yahoo for any lids and i couldnt find the link under the YAHOO UK&IRELAND SEARCH window to change back. they siad something about not enabling cookie but i dont know what all that means. could any one help me please?

    Check to see if you have the correct "Time Zone" entered, if not, change it. 1. Click on the "Calendar" tab at top of your yahoo mail page. 2. Click on the "Options" link in Calendar. 3. Click on "General Preferences" in calendar options. 4. Select your time zone from the page that opens. 5. At the bottom of the page, click the blue down arrow and select your country. Then save. Note: Yahoo is on Pacific Time for all mail in the US. It's GMT -8:00 US/Canada Pacific. If that doesn't get it corrected, go into your Account Info. 1. Click "My Account" at the top of this page to open your Yahoo ID card. 2. Go down to "Address/Contact Information and enter U.S. Central across from Time Zone. 3. Ensure your location in the US is correct in this section also. 3. Go to the bottom of the page and click "Finished."

go to yahoo.com homepage (the US page) in top left corner of your screen is an option 'make Y! your home page', click on that. Select 'make this your only home page' and click on 'ok'. hope this works

I am having the same problem. Just started today (May 15). I am American living in UK. Don't care a bit about looking at UK site. Can't even get to US site. What's changed overnite?

I search yahoo in various countries to get the local slant. I tried some measures and have now found a solution (or at least a part solution). I typed in yahoo.com in the search line. It defaults to http://uk.yahoo.com/?p=us which is the UK and Irish version. Now scroll to bottom left of screen where there is a box headed “Featured Services”. Click on the bottom line headed “Y! International”. Then click on your country of preference. That gets you there! NB There is also the option of making “Y! International” your home page. I hope that this helps.

Annoying Yahoo reroute - legal??

That does not work. This is absurd. I live in the UK, but I am an American. Yahoo used to be my homepage, but I will change it if this continues. Yahoo better make an option for this because I looked for hours to be able to retain the US yahoo website. The only way to do this to some extent... meaning to just go to the US yahoo is by typing into the search window US yahoo and clicking the first link. However, if you type in www.yahoo.com then it immediately goes to the UK site. Now I am responding to Shotsie (message down below) and have to say that you are dead wrong in your advice... I was hoping that you may have been right. All of my times are on US Eastern time... which was always the case. Yahoo has really screwed up here. I will change my homepage very soon from yahoo. I can't find any option or route to change this error at the present moment.

I don't know and I have the same problem. I want a trouble free internet experience not this junk. I've been on yahoo for years but if this doesn't work properly in the morning - i.e. let me set my own country - then I'm leaving yahoo for good. Why do they mess up things that worked fine?

Yes - and now they've done it to Yahoo Germany - I definitely don't want everything in Deutsch - how the "heck" do I change it back. I do not want all my news in German, that's for sure.
