How to make the Faces?

How do i make the smily faces....... not on yahoo?

• i have an apple and the alt button is very small. there is still one though. but when i do do it then it does not work. it is almost like it does not work with the alt button, so how do u do the smiley faces without the alt........ i also tried it on my gmail account but the alt will not work for that......... so how do i make them without the alt buttons

  All I have to do is a collen, a dash, and then the backwards parenthesis and it automatically turns into a smiley.
