How can I change my Yahoo mail?

How can I change the sound I hear when someone sends an IM in Yahoo Mail?

  • In Yahoo Mail, I can display a list of online contacts and can have conversations with them. I hear a sound when they message me but want to change it. I also have Yahoo Messenger, and can change the sounds there, but no change I make there affects the sound in yahoo Mail. Does anyone know how i can change the sound in mail? I'm not talking about when I receive emails, and I'm not talking about when I am in Yahoo Messenger. I'm interested only when I receive an instant message from one of my online contacts in Yahoo Mail. Thanks

    1. Open and sign into Yahoo! Messenger. 2. Open the Messenger Preferences window by selecting Preferences from the Messenger menu in the main Yahoo! Messenger window. 3. In the Preferences window, select the Alerts & Sounds category on the left. 4.On the right side of the Preferences window, check Enable alert sounds (it’s checked by default), then select an event from the Alert me when list (such as I receive a message in Yahoo! Mail as shown below). 5. The area below the event list updates to show the possible alerts and sounds that you can set for the selected event. 6. In the area below the list, check the alert options you would like Yahoo! Messenger to employ when the event occurs. And you're done :) Hope this helped.

Open the yahoo messenger then there are 4 options across the very top Messenger,Contacts,Actions,Help. Click on Messenger then click on preferences 6 spaces up from the bottom. Then go to Alerts & Sounds and set your preferences. Find the item you want to customize/personalize on the list in the middle of the window and click it. JTSYS
