How can I get a Yahoo Avatar?

I have deleted my Yahoo Avatar but the sample gray avatar image is still remaining. How can I get rid of it?

  • Every time I open my Yahoo Mail page, I see the "Your Avatar goes here!" notice. Please! I do not and ever will not use an avatar on Yahoo.

    I'm not sure if they got rid of these alerts, but I have never received any. You might want to try switching to another browser such as Firefox to block them if that's the problem.

I agree, it's annoying, and I haven't figured out a way to get rid of that pop-up warning. A few weeks ago, I set up an Avatar, even though they didn't really have one that "fit", thinking if I jumped through their hoop I would be rewarded -- that is, no more popups. No such luck: I was still getting annoying pop-ups, challenging me to come up with a better avatar! So I dumped it. I plan to switch to Hotmail.
