How do I group my contacts into categories?

I just added a category to sort some of my contacts and as soon as I created it, it disappeared. Did this 2x.?

I am not new to Yahoo - we have used it for several years. I had several categories to sort my contacts, and yesterday they all disappeared. So, I added a new category and emailed the people that I needed to... and today that category was gone. I needed to email another group of people, so I added a new category again, but this time it wouldn't even save the category long enough for me to send the email. What is going on, and how can I fix this? It is quite annoying!
