How do I delete a category in my address book?

How do you delete a email from a category and retain it?

• In att powered by yahoo. once you have assigned an email to a category there doesn't seen to be a way to just delete it from the category thus restoring to to the address book

• Answer:

  Click on "Contacts" and your contact list opens in the bottom left. Check the box in front of that specific contact (that you want to remove). Then in the screen on the right---under their name---next to "categories"---click on "Change". A box opens with a check mark by the category they are in. UN-check it----then click "done". They will be removed from that category. Removing them from the category does NOT remove them from your "contact list" (address book).
