Why is my mail box and calendar always temporarily unavailable?

I don't have a check box next to the birthday field!?

• People keep saying that to get your contacts' birthdays into your calendar to check the box next to the birthday field but there is no box to check in my mail. Do I have an outdated version or something? help?

  No, you're not outdated. I'm in the Classic Yahoo, and it still works. What you're looking for is in the "Event Type" section. 1. Click on the Calendar tab at the top of your yahoo mail page. 2. Click on "Options" in Calendar. 3 Scroll to the bottom left and click on "Add Event." 4. When the "Add Event page opens, while filling out the form, go to the "Event Type" section and click the blue down arrow next to it. A list of event types will open. Birthday is near the top. Click on it to enter it in the box next to Event Type. Finish the form and click Save.
