How can I only show email address and not my name with outgoing mail?

How can i not make my name to show up with my e mail address?

  • when i send an email, it will show my full name then my e mail address...how can i block my full name?

    On your mail page, click "options"----then click "general preferences". At the top of that page, you will see how your name is displayed on the From line of your mail. Change it here to a nickname--initials--or an alias---or anything you wish----and then go to bottom of page and click " save".

jd in cincinnati just helped me with this same problem. I use Yahoo Mail, so based on jd's advise, I removed my first and last name from my profile (in addresses), which worked. I then went to "addresses" and removed the first and last names of many of my friends, as well. I found that if I put their full names in the form for "nicknames" that the name did not appear in the address in email, but I still had the information stored for my personal information. This helps to reduce the amount of information we pass along in our emails, especially if people forward emails without deleting addresses from prior senders.
