How to contact Yahoo ?

I opened my yahoo acct and 7 years of ALL emails and my contact list is missing. How to contact yahoo?

  • How do I contact yahoo to see if I can get these emails and contact info back. it has my business and all my contact info and it is as if my office just burned down. i kept everything on yahoo so it would not be subject to a computer crash. does yahoo have ability to restore my contact list?

  • Answer:

Do you have Yahoo Mail Plus, the pay service? They'll be more inclined to help if you do. Aside from that, which interface are you using, Classic or New Mail? Try switching interfaces and see if that helps. I am guessing you must be using New Mail because you say Contact List, and that's exclusive to New Mail. Try going to addressbook.yahoo.com and signing in. If that's empty too, look at left hand side bar and click on "Trash" and see if there's anything in there. I know it doesn't help to hear it now, but it's important to know: even data stored online, like in Yahoo Mail, is susceptible to the same issues of data loss as on your computer. That being said, just like you back up your computer, you have to back up your online files too, in this instance Yahoo Mail.If you have Yahoo Mail Plus, simply use POP to download your messages to a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird on your computer and choose the option to leave them on the server; you can then compress the data file if it's really big and burn it to a CD/DVD, put it on an external drive, etc. You could download the Yahoo Zimbra program and download your mail and contacts using that interface. Another way, although it's not intended for this purpose, is to use Yahoo True Switch: set up another Yahoo email address as your back up and then go here http://help.yahoo.com/l/sg/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/manage/manage-66.html and follow the directions for True Switch. It's free and it will leave all your mail & contacts in the original account. An even safer thing to do in case something catastrophic happens to all of Yahoo, and God forbid Yahoo Mail completely tanking, is to open a gmail account or aol mail account and use their True Switch function as well. Good luck!
