What is address line 2 for?

Address line 1, address line 2. what do i enter.?

In Great Britain, some of these lines aren't actually necessary - for instance, in London, you only need the house number and street name, followed by the area name (which isn't REALLY needed), then London (and then the postcode) yet invariably there is a spare line which you don't need - yet certain internet sites keep slinging it back at you as an incomplete address, so I always put "Still London" which, due to the stupidity of the programmers, gets accepted as a necessary part of said address!
