Can I access a calendar in Yahoo?

Why can I no longer access my Yahoo calendar through Sharing?

  • For years, I have maintained two yahoo calendars: a work calendar and a personal one. I open the work calendar every day and then, in a different tab, open the personal calendar through Sharing. A week ago, my personal calendar was inexplicably updated to the NEW format. I can no longer access it through Sharing. I am told: Yahoo! Calendar Problem (code 40) The Yahoo! user nouser does not exist or does not have a public Yahoo! Calendar. I have updated Firefox for the new Yahoo. I have re-assigned the Sharing. Nothing works. What can I do?

  • Answer:

I am in the same boat. I have used yahoo calendar since 2004. Happily. With the new Yahoo initially I could not share but figured out how to later. (You would think the upgrade would maintain the shared connections) But I can't issue any updates via my shared account (and yes everyone...I do have the correct box clicked to allow edit). The online help does not match the screens the new yahoo calendar is rpesenting so I am guessing that the upgrade either forgot about the help screens or they did not have time. I sent in a few emails to support and nothing came back. So...I guess I am on my own. I am going to bail on Yahoo calendar (sob!) and find another mechanism. What a drag. Whoever was in charge of the Yahoo calendar upgrade hosed it, I love Yahoo and do not wish to leave it but I am left with no choice. It does not work for me.
