My yahoo address book has been compromised, so all my contacts are receiving e-mails from someone posing as me?
-
What do you do when your address book has been invaded. All my contacts are receiving e-mails from someone using my e-mail address.
-
Answer:
You probably have a virus or you answered a phishing email that demanded your email and password. If you can get into your email account first change the password. If you do not have a good antivirus program get one running and it will remove the virus. The bad guy probably now has all your contacts and will probably continue to use them and there is nothing you can do about that really. However, if the bad guy is demanding money or making threats you should go to the police. They have the authority to track that kind of guy down.
