How do I make an email list ( from my yahoo email contacts) without having everyones personal names?
-
Can anyone advise on this....I would like to make a mail group (from my Yahoo E-mail contact list) however, I would NOT like to have everyone's personal name adjacent to their name in the header EX: Bill Smith <[email protected]>. Is there something I can do...except leave their names of their individual contact pages? Any help appreciated.....Thanks

Answer:
1.>>>Hide the names and addresses>>> The BCC line (blind courtesy copy) hides all names put on it---from everybody, including themselves. With Yahoo you are required to enter at least one valid address on the TO line---sooooo---common practice is to put your own address there, and that's all anyone will see. Put the "name" of the "mail group" on the BCC line, to protect all those names and addresses. 2.>>>Make a mailing list>>> If you want to make a "mail group" (called category in Yahoo), try this. On your mail page, click on "contacts" and your address book opens. >>check each name you want in this category. >>then click the "add to category" link-(next to the "send to" tab). >>in the drop down list, click on "new category" and a name box opens. >>type in a name---no special characters, nor more than 12 letters. Just keep it simple--and then click "ok"----and it's done. The category name will appear in the side panel of your address book under "categories" (for editing purposes)>>>>AND>>>> It will also appear in your mailing list (when clicking on "insert contacts"--OR--TO) Click on the "category" link next to "my contacts", and the different categories are listed. All you have to do now, is enter the "category name" on the BCC line, if you prefer, and everyone in that category gets the mail. All names are hidden from view.

It seems to always show up that way. What you could do though is add the names you wish to hide by entering them in the BCC field. They can't see who the others are that your email has been sent to. Only their own.
