How do I export my mail addresses?

How do I export my Yahoo addresses to Microsoft Mail?

  • When I got a new computer, I lost 462 messages (very important...we had been out of town) and all of my addresses in Outlook Express, now Microsoft Mail. It's been a long time since I was computer literate, as far as files go, so I'm at a loss and extremely aggravated at myself for allowing this to happen. I also have Windows Vista, which seems to be part of the reason I lost everything. When the tech did my file transfers, I cannot find anything, cannot play my games I had transferred. Ugggh!

  • Answer:

Click the Addresses Tab, then Addressess Options on the drop down menu. Next window: click Import/Export under the Management side of the page. Next Window: scroll to bottom half of page (Export) and choose the program you wish to export to (Microsoft Outlook) and click the Export Now button. This will export your contacts to a file called yahoo_ab_csv. Save it to your desktop so you can find it easier. Now open your Outlook and go to the contacts menu. Click File, then import/export. Wizard opens. Click "Import from another program or file". Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" and click "Next." Browse to your desktop and find the yahoo_ab_csv file and select. Select "Do not import duplicate items" (or one of the other options) and click "Next." Select the "Contacts" folder and click "Next." Make sure to check the box next to the yahoo_ab_csv, and then click "Finish" to import your yahoo contacts.
